Bawean

On the way to Borneo we stopped off at an island called Bawean which was about half way.

It was a lovely island with even lovelier people.  Most people were driving around on 

mopeds and were refueling at these cute little "gas stations" along the road

After our walk ashore we came home by a cool looking local boat

We hadn't been home long before Ali came by in a little boat and asked me to

come by his school to help his students practice English

They gave me a reception that made me feel like a rock star

he even had me go to a scout BBQ on the beach which was fun

Couldn't have had a much better cultural experience!
