We had to go to Waisai town to purchase our park permits.
Even though we have been in the park for 2 weeks.
Had a lot of kids waving at us going up the river in our dinghy
looking for a place to land
After getting our permits purchased we went to the produce market
Lucked out finding a lady selling fresh sliced bread outside the market
The next morning we were picked up at our boat at 0500 and
went up an inlet on the island of Gam for a hike in the dark
It was well worth it as we got to see several Red Birds of Paradise
as well as some awesome tail feather shaking

Then the long hike back down. Much easier with the sun up however
Overlooking the inlet we came up in the dark
