We were ready to depart Auckland but found out the VOR was due to arrive in a couple days so we hung around. This morning Feb 28 the first boat crossed the finish line right in front of us a little after 0100
Just to make sure the winning boat made good time Noelle and I did have to help
steer as the winds were picking up
Later today by 0900 the crews already had unstepped the masts of 2 boats
and were lifting the winning boat out of the water
We were to tired to help and just stayed in our comfy Volvo Race boat hammocks
