We left Illimite' secure in Seward and spent a night in Anchorage
Driving from Anchorage north to Denali National Park we stopped
off at the Independence Gold Mine. Pretty much abandandoned since the 1940's
but still with some buildings and track left
I tried to be a good son and call home while there but no one answered
Did a little hiking
saw a few moose
Noelle's friend Dave, who works at Denali lined us up with a place
to stay and then suggested we go and visit a friend of his who was
having a bonfire on this sandbar. But how do we get there without
getting all wet!
We hitched a ride as shown in this video
Unfortunately Noelle and some local children got stuck in quick
sand but the kids malamute saved the day
On our way back to our cabin we had a double rainbow
