Goodbye Seattle

Just in time before leaving we got Illimite's sails back after a little patching.  Caryn, who is going to help me sail south since Noelle is going to work for a while is helping me put the main back on.

New sails are being made and shipped to San Diego.

After a false start the afternoon prior (fog was so thick we turned back almost immediately)
We had an early morning cast off as soon as it was light enough to see
Caryn and her daughter Kelly, who is going part way, helped cast off

Kelly enjoying some early morning coffee in the fog

On the way to Newport Oregon we had some hitchhikers we picked up
They departed as suddenly as they came but did leave a few
little white deposits to remember them by

One of Kelly's friends gave us some sourdough starter and
Caryn made good use of it

For our three day sail (mostly motoring) to Newport Oregon Kelly helped
keep us on course
