Newport Oregon

 Before arriving in Newport Oregon we had a little clearing of the sky 

and was able to get a shot of the moon to get a line of position

At sunset we were literally surrounded by over a dozen whales

We arrived a little after midnight and were about swept into the unlit rocks by 

the 3.5 knot incoming current but tied up safely

I circled Illimite' on the picture

You can see the narrow entrance to the left

Caryn's daughter Kelly got picked up by some friends.

We are going to hang here for a few days and let a storm system blow by

We were able to get in a nice 5 mile walk on the foggy beach

Newport has a rather iconic bridge as viewed from Illimite'

as the storm is getting started

Caryn taught me how to  play Mexican Train domino's

and gave me a humiliating defeat
