Heading South to California

After departing Seattle we made our first stop in Astoria, Oregon.  Wasn't much in Astoria but mainly wanted to cross the Columbia River bar and see what it was like.  Weather was mild so no big deal.  Highlight for Astoria was a good Mexican restaurant !

Then off to Crescent City, California.  First day was nice sailing.  Second day was forecast to be light winds behind us.  Instead we had to motor into 20 knot winds on the nose!  But the Jedediah Smith Redwood Park was worth it.

We rented bikes. Biked, hiked and took selfies

Hung out in Crescent City a few days letting a little bad weather blow by
Then off to San Franscico Bay!
Made a little sour dough bread on the way.
This is Noelle's "bread machine" kneading the dough
(with my Alaskan sneakers on)

Seeing the Golden Gate Bridge is exciting but pales in comparison with
the fresh bread that is about to come out of the oven!

Another perfect loaf.  Must be the excellent kneading.
