Another year shaped by Covid has gone by
We ended the 7th year on ILLIMITE' coming back to the Atlantic
as there is less Covid restrictions than the South Pacific and SE Asia
Can't hardly believe 7 years have gone by already,
feel like I am just getting started!
Below is a map of ILLIMITE'S travels so far in red with
us currently in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
We have rather for sure plans up until February.
That is heading up into northern Maine, visiting Sarah in Norfolk on the way,
then back to Florida for the Hollidays then to the Bahamas.
This is marked in yellow
What we don't know is what to do after that and it will again depend on Covid
If the South Pacific has stopped quarantines then we will most
likely do the blue route west back through the canal to French Polynesia
We are really missing the great diving in the South Pacific and Indonesia especially.
If Covid is still a big issues in the South Pacific then we will probably do the green route east
to Bermuda, Azores and then on to Northern Europe
ILLIMITE' has now covered over 67,000 nautical miles
After a little work this year and $ she will soon be ready for 67 more!
It has been a wonderful 7 years
Slowed down a little because of Covid
But the next 7 years should be even better!
Got the perfect boat and perfect partner!
yep
ReplyDeleteThe other day I was looking at some photos of us in the Canary Islands and could not believe it was almost 7 years ago. Where does the time go?
Don't worry about Europe, the Covid restrictions here are a lot less strict now - come back to Australia. Tasmania has some good sailing.
