We left Sandy Hook and sailed through the Narrows and
swung by the Statue of Liberty

After passing by Manhattan we went through Hell Gate.
A narrows with 5.5 knots of current.
Used to be a dangerous passage until the blasted an islet out of the center

We made several stops on Long Island. The last at
Fort Pond Bay near the tip. You can see the Atlantic on
the other side
Then we sailed past Block Island and up the river past Newport on our
way to Bristol, Rhode Island
We visited with a good friend in Bristol who took us over to see the
oldest Fourth of July Parade in the country.
